ADDISON TWP. ? A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for any information leading to the arrest and/or conviction of whoever set fire to a trailer Saturday night in the Hidden Lake Estates mobile home park off Rochester Rd.
‘It’s definitely an arson,? said Oakland County Undersheriff Mike McCabe, who noted a pair of potential suspects has been identified.
‘There are two people that our investigator is going to talk to and focus in on, but I’m not at liberty to say who they are at this point,? he said.
Firefighters were called at 7:11 p.m. to 61 Channing Circle to extinguish a blaze inside a vacant mobile home.
They were able to knock it down within 15 minutes of arriving, which kept the fire contained to a bathroom and bedroom, according to Addison Fire Chief Jerry Morawski.
‘If you look at it from the outside, you really can’t tell there was a fire,? he said. ‘We got there pretty quick.?
Morawksi said he immediately suspected arson because the mobile home had been unoccupied for six months and all the utilities were shut off.
With the exception of an old sofa and some miscellaneous garbage, the trailer was devoid of contents, so nothing of value was lost in the fire.
The sheriff’s Fire Investigations Unit is handling the case.
