The Brandon wrestling team took their lumps in a Feb. 10 meet, but Coach Kent Bailo was proud of how the team competed.
The Blackhawks fell to two Flint Metro League opponents, as they dropped a 45-21 contest against Lapeer East, and were shut out by Holly 69-0.
Bailo said he was especially pleased with the Blackhawks? effort against Lapeer East. ‘We wrestled the best we’ve wrestled all year,? he said.
Four Brandon wrestlers earned wins against East: Jimmy Millar (119), who defeated Chad Skop by a 12-10 decision; Abe Beebe (125), who pinned Mark Bashore in 2:56; Cody Sisk (160), who pinned David Newport in 4:08; and Austin Hickman (275), who pinned Cody Straescick in 3:23.
