Broadway theater agent Susan Schulman kicks off the new Oakland Town Hall speaker season, Oct. 11, 10:30 a.m., at the St. George Cultural Center, 43816 Woodward Avenue in Bloomfield Hills.
Schulman, author of “Backstage Pass to Broadway, True Tales of a Theatre Press Agent,” will discuss her experiences with top New York City actors and productions.
The series continues with CNN journalist and terrorism expert Mike Boettcher on Nov. 8; Civil War historian Louis Masur on April 11; and the Comma Queen of The New Yorker, Mary Norris, on May 9.
“The guest speakers are so entertaining, so marvelous,” said Kathy Kracht of Rochester Hills, membership chair.
“It’s a great activity for the community,” said Glenda Katchka of Waterford, house chair.
“You really learn a lot from them,” said Linda Kolody of Clarkston, lecture ticket chair.
Tickets are $42 for each lecture and lunch, $150 for the whole series. Call the non-profit group at 248-625-4137.
