Oakland County Fair returns to Springfield Oaks County Park, 12451 Andersonville Road in Davisburg, July 8-17.
A free concert by TJ Craven and Grant Reiff will be on July 8 at 8 p.m., followed by fireworks at dusk.
Fair activities include a chess tournament in the historic Ellis Barn; animal exhibits; horse shows; family contests – longest hair, most freckles, sibling look alike, husband calling and skillet throwing; and a teddy bear parade.
Grandstand events in the evening include an off-road demo derby; Championship Figure Eight Races; Superkicker Rodeo; Night of Destruction; and Monster Trucks. Tickets for these events may be purchased at OakFair.org.
Fair parking, which includes admission, is $10/vehicle and $5/motorcycle. Parking is free on opening day, July 8, and Tuesday, July 14, Special Needs Day, with a 2016 Oakland County Parks Vehicle Permit.
