Nine new Everest Academy thespians were inducted into Troupe 8546 of the International Thespian Society on Thursday, February 25.
In its fourth year of existence, the Everest troupe continues to grow.
Despite setbacks due to the coronavirus pandemic, thespians prepared the canceled spring production “Children of Eden,” participated in the virtual thespian festival, and performed ”12 Angry Jurors” this past fall.
The ceremony included excerpts of pieces performed by students during the thespian festival. Honor Thespians, National Thespians, and International Thespians were recognized.
Honors are based on the numbers of points thespians have earned in the categories of acting, production, business, directing, and writing. Each activity a thespian participates in has an assigned point value. Honor Thespians have accumulated 60 points, National Honor Thespians 120 points, and International Honor Thespians 180 points.
Everest students Margaret Smith and Danielle Brown achieved international honors, while Brown was honored with Thespian of the Year accolades.

Everest Drama teacher Lia DiFonzo, right, recognizes Danielle Brown as the Thespian of the Year.
