Field hockey full of optimism

Clarkston High School Varsity Field Hockey continues to grow as they start their new season.
“This year’s team is comprised of an even mix of returning veteran athletes as well as a strong core of first-time players,” said Cary Exline, head coach.

The Wolves lost their season opener against Forest Hills Central on August 20, 8-0. They lost their home opener against Farmington United on August 23, 3-0. They lost to Grosse Pointe South on August 24, 5-0.
Players of the game voted by the opposing team’s coach went to goaltender Myah Sadowski and defensive standout Will Mathews.
They opened the week against West Bloomfield. They host Detroit Country Day on Wednesday and host Edsel Ford on Monday, Sept. 12. Both games are at 7 p.m.
