Republican candidate for Michigan governor Dick DeVos announced on Monday that Oakland County Clerk Ruth Johnson would be joining him on the ticket as his choice for lieutenant governor.
Johnson is a former state legislator, county commissioner, social worker and public teacher. She was the first woman elected Oakland County Clerk in the county’s 176-year history.
