About 10,000 spectators are expected for the Clarkston Fourth of July parade, 10 a.m., Tuesday, July 4.
The parade will line up at St. Daniel Catholic Church, march down Miller Road onto Main Street, through downtown, then left on Church Street ending at Clarkston Renaissance High School.
Two stops are planned for singing the “Star Spangled Banner,” at 90 N. Main Street and downtown in front of the Main Street clock.
The parade committee welcomes floats, antique cars, musical groups, walking groups, business entries, and children riding their decorated bikes. Float ribbons will be given to the best business entry, local organization entry and youth entry.
Register floats at Clarkstonparade.org or by calling 248-620-2984. Entry is free for community organizations and individuals; $35 entry fee for businesses and politicians.
Bowman Chevrolet is the parade sponsor for 2017, with support from Clarkston Optimists, Mt. Zion Church, Clarkston Lions, Knights of Columbus of St. Daniel Catholic Church, Independence Township Board and the Clarkston City Council.
