Letter to the Editor: Vote for Brown

Dear Editor,

When voting for important positions within our local government on August 2, ask yourself this: What candidate for township supervisor will take the time to respond to my concerns and then follow through on their promises?
Two candidates currently running for township supervisor recently failed this test miserably. Candidate and current appointed Supervisor Gerald Fisher never returned our phone calls, or responded to our emails when we brought a simple concern to his attention. Very disappointing!
Candidate and current trustee Jose Aliaga also never responded to our simple concern when it was brought to his attention. Very disappointing!
Of the three candidates currently holding office only one candidate responded quickly to our email and promised to see if they could get our simple concern taken care of, candidate Paul Brown.
We’ve also found that Paul Brown was quick to respond to our questions and concerns when he was township treasurer. Isn’t communicating with those paying your salary the least we should expect from our employees? We’ve found that two candidates didn’t think so.
So when it comes to hiring a township supervisor on August 2, the choice is simple. Hire the person with a long history of responding and working for the people. Paul Brown is our choice, make him your choice.
You won’t be disappointed.

Sincerely,
Michael & Lori Powell,
Independence Township
