The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) plans to begin culvert replacement and resurfacing work on Mann Road between Clintonville Road and Floretta Street on the Independence Township/Waterford Township border today, Aug. 10.
This section of Mann Road will be closed from Aug. 10 through Aug. 31 for the culvert replacement portion of the project. After Aug. 31, the road will remain open, but one lane will be closed for paving and traffic will be directed by flaggers.
During the closure, the detour route for through traffic will be Rattek Road to Genoa Road to Pine Knob Lane to Maybee Road to Clintonville Road and back to Mann Road and vice versa. Rattek and Genoa road and portions of Pine Knob Lane are private roads.
The RCOC has attained permission from the residents along the private roads to use them for the detour route.
This project’s cost is approximately $1.13 million and will be paid for by RCOC, Independence and Waterford townships, and Oakland County general government. — M.M.
