Clarkston Everest Collegiate and Academy student-athletes began practicing for the winter season a few weeks ago.
The basketball teams host their season openers this Friday, December 9. The girls varsity basketball team plays at 4 p.m. The boys JV team play at 5:30 p.m. and the boys varsity team follows at 7 p.m.
Mountaineers Ethan Brodbeck, Jeffrey (Remy) Stalcup and Parker Stalcup began competition with Bishop Foley United co-op team on November 15. The team is 1-4 overall.
The lone win was a 7-6 overtime win over New Boston United, Nov. 18. Remy Stalcup had two goals and assisted on the game winning goal made by Tyler Dempsey.
Bishop Foley United lost to Bay Area last Friday, 4-1; and Tawas on Saturday, 5-1. Remy had the lone goal against Tawas.
They play North Oakland this Friday, 7 p.m.; and St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Saturday, 12 p.m. Both games are at John Lindell Ice Arena in Royal Oak. For Clarkston Athletics, boys basketball, wrestling and competitive cheer teams open their season this week.
