The Clarkston Everest Collegiate Competitive Cheer team finished in second place at the MHSAA Division 4 District 21 meet at Whitmore Lake, March 17.
The team finished with a season and program high score of 710.14 points.
They scored 221.3 points during the first round; 203.24 points during the second round; and 285.6 points during the third round.
Adrian Madison finished in first place with 719.54 points; Plymouth Christian ,third place, 674.4 points; Whitmore Lake, fourth place, 657 points; Southfield Christian, fifth place, 597.48; and Clinton, sixth place, 559.28.
The Mountaineers are sophomores Katie Katsaros, Kristina Moran, Audrey Stafford, Lily Taylor, Allison Tong; juniors Erin Booms, Molly Burgess, Andrea Gonzalvo, Scarlett Hamilton, Catherine Smith; seniors Lauren Marshall and Lilly Morgan. Head Coach is Nancy Strach.
The Mountaineers compete in the regional meet at Mason on Wednesday, March 24, 5 p.m.
Everest Collegiate Boys Varsity Basketball team competed in the Catholic High School League tournament last week.
They won the quarterfinal game against Cranbrook Kingswood on March 15, 68-41. Michael McGrath led with 16 points. Joey Thobodeau had 14 points and Luke Walker had 12 points.
They defeated Madison Heights Bishop Foley in the semifinals, 60-45. They lost to Gabriel Richard on Friday, 46-36.
Everest Collegiate Girls Varsity Basketball won their game against Academy of the Sacred Heart on Thursday, 37-27. Celeste James led with 14 poins. They also defeated Genesee Christian last week, 49-36. James led with 22 points.
Both teams compete in the district playoffs this week.
