Mountaineers make leaps in jamboree

Clarkston Everest Collegiate – Oakland Christian School Softball won their game against Intercity Baptist on Thursday, 12-2.
They lost to Lutheran Northwest on April 25, 7-6, but hit three homeruns during the game.
They won their double header against Parkway Christian on Saturday, April 22, 16-5 and 13-3.
Everest Collegiate Girls Varsity Tennis lost to Regina on Wednesday, 5-3; and University Liggett on April 24, 7-1.
Everest Boys Varsity Golf finished in eighth place out of 27 teams at the Next Tee Invitational at Oakland Hills. They finished 152-175 against Our Lady of the Lakes on Wednesday at home.
Everest Girls Varsity Soccer lost two games on the road with a 2-0 loss to Bishop Foley on Thursday; and a 1-0 loss to Ann Arbor Greenhills on April 25.
Everest Varsity Baseball also lost to Bishop Foley with a 16-4 an 14-0 losses in a double header.
Clarkston Everest Collegiate Track and Field competed in the first CHSL Intersectional Jamboree at Bishop Foley, April 20.
The boys team finished in fifth place out of ten teams with 62 points.
The top eight finishes in the track events for the Mountaineers were: in the 100-meter dash, freshman Luca Gjonaj in seventh place in the time of 12.36; 200-meter dash, junior Ravi Iyer, third, 24.98; 400-meter dash, Iyer, third, 57.24; 110-meter hurdles, senior Thomas Williams, second, 18.61; senior Michael Wojciechowski, seventh, 21.23; 300-meter hurdles, Williams, second, 47.19; and Wojciechowski, eighth, 51.86.
The 400-meter relay team with Williams, sophomore Spencer Lacey, junior Joseph Milosch and junior Demarco Valentino finished in fourth place in the time of 50.37. The 800-meter relay team with Iyer, Gjonaj, sophomore Paul Rotole and sophomore Wyatt Phyle, 1:47.69.
The top eight finishes in the field events were: in the discus, Milosch in sixth place with the distance of 93-03; high jump, Phyle and Lacey, tied for third, 5-00; long jump, Williams, third, 17-02.25; and Wojciechowski, eighth, 15-02.
The girls team finished in seventh place out of ten teams with 37 points.
The top eight finishes in the track and field events for the Mountaineers were: in the 100-meter dash, sophomore Madelyn Krappman in the third place in the time of 13.84; 200-meter dash, Krappmann, fourth, 28.96; senior Jessie Burns, seventh, 29.73; 100-meter hurdles, senior Stephanie Suran, third, 19.45; 300-meter hurdles, Suran, third, 55.79; and long jump, Krappmann, third, 14-00. The 400-meter relay team of Burns, Krappmann, Suran and freshman Charlotte Taylor finished in third place in the time of 55.21.
The Mountaineers opened the week at the second CHSL Intersectional Jamboree on Monday. They compete in the third jamboree at Ann Arbor Greenhills on Tuesday, May 9.
