Mountaineers shine in athletics

The Clarkston Everest Collegiate Girls Varsity Basketball team traveled to Hillsdale College on June 17 for a team camp.

“We had a great camp at Hillsdale College,” said Erin Van Wagoner, head coach. “The girls played well and bonded as a team. We were competitive in all four games and had moments that looked very promising for the upcoming season.”
The players were also able to meet with the Hillsdale team and ask players questions.

The seventh and eighth grade softball team from Everest Academy as well as the seventh and eighth grade baseball teams made post-season runs in the CYO tournament.
For the majority of the year, CYO post-season tournaments were cancelled due to COVID.
The seventh and eighth grade girls made it to the CYO quarterfinal and ended their season there.
The baseball team advanced to the CYO semifinal where they fell to St. Lawrence.

Mountaineer League athletic programs for young athletes continue to grow at Everest.
This spring students enjoyed weeks of soccer and NFL flag football.

Everest shares many thanks to their varsity coaches who make these programs available for their youngest athletes.
Registration for fall programs is now available online at everestcatholic.org/student-life/athletics. The fall program includes soccer for preschool through third grade, and NOC NFL Flag Football for first through third grade. Both start in September. The Mountaineer League is open to the public.
