Nuccio steps down, school board member needed

After 15 years as a Brandon Board of Education trustee, Beth Nuccio is leaving after being elected Oakland County Commissioner, District 1. Now, the school board and superintendent must find a replacement.
Residents of the school district who are interested in being appointed to the school board to fill the remainder of Nuccio’s term (from Dec. 14, 2010 to Dec. 31, 2011), are being asked to submit a letter of interest, as well as a resume to Superintendent Lorrie McMahon at the Central District Office, 1025 S. Ortonville Road, Ortonville, MI 48462. Letters and resumes may be sent via e-mail to lmcmahon@brandon.k12.mi.us.
Letters must be received by Dec. 1 and include the applicant’s experience and background, philosophy of future direction for the school district and contributions the applicant believes he or she can render to the board of education.
A special board meeting at which candidates will be interviewed is planned for 6:30 p.m., Dec. 6 and board members will vote for a candidate during the regularly scheduled board meeting, 6:30 p.m., Dec. 13.
