Public Notice: Notice of Township Board vacancy (trustee)

NOTICE OF TOWNSHIP BOARD VACANCY

TRUSTEE

The Charter Township of Independence is seeking qualified applicants to assume the vacant Trustee position on the Board of Trustees resulting from the resignation of Trustee Matt Stoian who was appointed Township Trustee effective October 24, 2023. All applicants must be registered voters in the Charter Township of Independence, 18 years of age, a U.S. Citizen and live in the Township for at least 30-days prior to appointment.

The responsibilities of a Trustee include but are not limited to fiduciary responsibility to manage the affairs of the township, attend township board meetings, and participate in decisions that are in the best interest of the public. The appointment will be effective upon the date of Board appointment and will expire at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, November 20, 2024. This appointment is for the remainder of the vacant Trustee position. Upon appointment, the applicant must take the Oath of Office.

Applications are available on the Township website at www.indtwp.com and at the Township Clerk’s office. Applications and resumes can be submitted in person, by mail or emailed to cneubeck@indtwp.com. Submissions must be addressed to Cari J. Neubeck, Township Clerk at 6483 Waldon Center Drive – Clarkston, Michigan 48346 and received no later than 9:00 AM, November 9, 2023.
