JANUARY 23, 2024 – Regular / CLOSED SESSION Meeting

CALL TO ORDER: 6:00 P.M.

APPROVED: Agenda as Amended

APPROVED Consent Agenda as Presented

  1. Board of Trustees Regular Meeting Minutes of January 9, 2024
  2. January 16, 2024 Check Run Including ACH ($789,912.92) and Ratify the January 5, 2024 Payroll ($301,684.31)
  3. 2024 Budget Amendment #1: Approved Lobbyist Charges for 2024
  4. Resolution No. 2024-001: Canada Goose Nest Destruction and/or Roundup/Removal Program

The following motions were made and passed:

APPROVE: Quote from INC Systems for a One-Year Period for New Managed Service Provider

ACCEPT: Proposed Changes to theCharter Township of Independence Ordinance Code, Chapter 50 Zoning Ordinance, Revisions to Article 2 and Section 5.11 Including the Addition of a New Article IV in Chapter 8 of the General Code of Ordinances Relating to the Keeping of Chickens and Schedule the 2nd Reading on the next available Board of Trustees Regular Meeting

REQUEST: Projects Presented to the Planning Commission not be Presented with Recommendations of Approval Prior to Deliberations

APPOINT: Board and Committee Member to the Planning Commission: William Scarborough

APPROVE: Engineering Fees and Expenses not to Exceed $5,000 for the Review and Investigation of the Concerns Raised Related to Recent Work being Performed on the Property Commonly Known as the Sashabaw Crossings Development, Including any Meeting or Site Visit Deemed Necessary and Authorize the Township Supervisor to Select and Execute any Contract Related Thereto

CLOSED SESSION: Pursuant to MCL 15.268(d), to Discuss the Purchase of Real Property
