obit Parker Richard D.PARKER, Richard D. — Age 81, of Swartz Creek, formerly of Clarkston and Cheboygan, died May 12, 2017. Funeral services will be held 4 PM Monday May 15 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel,8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Pastor Scott Distler officiating. Visitation will be held 1PM until time of service on Monday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions to the Gaylord Evangelical Free Church. Richard was born February 20,1936 in Detroit the son of Raymond and Opal (Cutright) Parker. He married Marsha Haglund June 5, 1965. He was a Veteran of the U.S Army. He taught Accounting at North Central Michigan College in Petoskey , and also at William Tyndale College, Wayne State, Olivet College, Chadron State College, Iowa Central Community College, Tarkio College in Missouri. He loved Hockey and boating up North. He played Hockey and Baseball, and was an avid Red Wings Fan. He was a member of the Gaylord Evangelical Free Church. He was passionate about his teaching. He was in the process of authoring an online accounting tutorial. He is survived by his wife, Marsha Parker of Swartz Creek; 3 children, Bruce (Rhonda) Parker of Hartland, Greg (Michele) Parker of Swartz Creek, Kelly (Curtis) Wittenberg of Lake Linden; 3 grandchildren, Brett, Elizabeth, Bryan; sister, MaryLou Cullen, June Parker; brother, Harold (Yolaine) Parker; many nieces and nephews.
