Sashabaw Middle School and Clarkston Junior High FIRST Robotics teams are holding a community event at Clarkston Independence District Library, 6495 Clarkston Road, Nov. 18, 10:30 a.m.-noon.
The students and coaches will have a short presentation on how origami is used to create versatile and expandable technologies in the real world.
The Technadoes and Electric Mayhem of SMS and CJHS follow the presentation portion with a hands-on origami session, followed by the robotics team members hosting a “fail forward” engineering task to help attendees create, test and deploy their own DIY pumpkin launchers as well.
The drive teams plan to demonstrate the team-built robots they custom designed and developed to be used in this season’s Centerstage FIRST Tech Challenge competitions.
