Sashabaw Road will close on Aug. 11 for the Whipple Lake Canal culvert replacement, and will reopen on Nov. 2.
According to Independence Township Supervisor Pat Kittle, the culvert needs to be replaced before it collapses.
Sashabaw Road between Clarkston Road and Oakhill Road will be closed for through traffic. The detour will be Sashabaw Road to Clarkston Road to Baldwin Road to Seymour Lake Road, and back to Sashabaw
Residents south of the culvert will be able to get to their homes, and those north will have to take the detour and circle around.
The hard closure will be north of 9990 Sashabaw Road and south of Pine Knob Road as the bridge over the culvert will be out.
