Independence Township Treasurer Rachel Loughrin reported township investments are holding steady amidst financial instability due to coronavirus.
Public Act 20 in state law heavily restricts the way township funds can be invested, Loughrin said.
“The township does not invest in the stock market, so we were not affected by the losses in the market and all of our investments are strong,” she said.
