Troy falls as swimmers stay undefeated

The varsity boys swim and dive team moved to 2-0 on the regular season following a 109-77 victory over Troy Athens on Thursday, Dec. 15. Oxford won eight of the 12 events raced on the evening.
Freshmen Cheyne Stresky won four events, two team relays and two individual, on the evening. Stresky, along with Blake Hibdon, sophomore Erick Vandecar and junior captain Jarred Butler, won the 200 Medley Relay (1:55.54) and senior captain Joey Tasch, Hibdon and Butler won the 400 Freestyle Relay (3:45.77).
Stresky also finished first in the 200 Freestyle (2:03.69) and the 500 Freestyle (5:33.50).
Butler finished first in the 200 Individual Medley (2:19.23) and the 100 Backstroke (1:02.91.)
Other event winners for Oxford include Vandecar in the 100 Butterfly (1:07.03) and the Wildcat A relay of Vandecar, junior Corey Jones, senior Sean Thomas finished first in the 200 Freestyle Relay (1:45.62).
Tasch also finished second in the 50 Freestyle (25.03), while senior Matthew Campagiorni took second in the diving portion with 159.35 points.
Thomas came in second in the 100 Freestyle (59.73) and senior Dwight Merrill was second in the 100 Breaststroke (1:14.78.)
After taking three weeks off for the holiday break, the Wildcats return to the pool to face Royal Oak on Thursday, Jan 5.
