The following projects may cause traffic delays on Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) roads in Independence Township between June 24 and July 1 or may start shortly thereafter.
Mann Road, from Floretta Street to Clintonville Road, on the Independence Township and Waterford Township border, is being closed for culvert removal and replacement.
The project also includes asphalt resurfacing over the culvert, minor drainage improvements, and a new guardrail.
The road will close over Sashabaw Creek, between Clintonville Road and Floretta Street. The detour is Rattek Drive to Genoa Road to Pine Knob Lane to Maybee Road to Clintonville Road, back to Mann Road and vice versa. Completion date is August in a yet to-be-determined time frame.
Maybee Road (part of the Independence Township road improvement millage), from Dixie Highway to Clintonville Road, is undergoing resurfacing work.
The road will remain open, but traffic will be unable to turn onto eastbound Maybee from Dixie during the work. Westbound Maybee traffic will be able to access Dixie. Expect lane closures with flaggers directing traffic. Completion date is late July.
