Folks dressed up for the Bucks for Buses fundraiser for Independence Township’s transportation program.
The theme was Polish Wedding Celebration, with polka music provided by The Kielbasa Kings band and raffle prizes presented in the style of enormous gift boxes.
Independence Township Parks, Recreation and Seniors Director Derek Smith and his wife Erica Smith took on the role of bride and groom for the event, Sept. 25, but all the gifts went to the lucky raffle winners.
The transportation department serves senior and disabled adults in Independence Township and Clarkston.
