What ‘Matt’ers: A special time of year

Matt Mackinder

Is it already time to play Christmas music?
You bet it is!
And I know, I know. There are people out there that say Thanksgiving Day or the day after is the official start to the Christmas season.
That could very well be true, but I’m that guy that watches “Elf” in July. I’ve done it. And I’ll do it again. Try me.
I’ve always been enamored with this time of year, really from Halloween to New Year’s Day. There is just so much going on, plenty of family time, and the mood always seems to be quite jovial.
It’s that family time that I love to focus on. In today’s world where we seem to be constantly going to and from work and kids’ activities, I love that the holidays can be a time to just slow down and enjoy each other’s company.
I also can’t wait for Depot Park and Main Street to be packed in a couple weeks for the Clarkston Christmas Market and Holiday Lights Parade.
See you there!
