Tuesday Musicale of Greater Pontiac presents Kerry Price in a Grand Night for Singing, 7:30 p.m., Oct. 9, at Central United Methodist Church, 3882 Highland Road, Waterford.
“This lady is absolutely fabulous,” said MaryAnn LaMonte of Waterford, president and chairman of the group’s Dora Dawson Scholarship Fund. “She’s so much fun. I saw her play in Detroit. She plays, talks, and sings. When she was finished, you’re like, is that all there is?”
Price will perform music and share memories about composers and musicians Richard Rodgers, Oscar Hammerstein II, and Lorenz Hart. The performance is a fundraiser for Dora Dawson Scholarship Awards for music majors and minors. The 95-year-old group performs and encourages music in the community, with bell ringer groups, chorus, and events.
“Tuesday Musicale is a wonderful group of people and programs, and it’s a wonderful scholarship the group gives out,” said Kay Johnson of Clarkston, past president and member for 36 years, and an avid music lover.
“It’s a great group, very active,” LaMonte said.
“We’re happy to support cultural arts in the community,” said Sandra DeRemer of Waterford, past president of Tuesday Musicale and president of the North Branch District, Michigan Federation of Musicians Club.
For reservations, send name, address, and check for $20 payable to Tuesday Musicale of Greater Pontiac, to Hazel Lawrence, 2698 Escondido, Waterford, MI 48329. Visit Tuesdaymusicale.org.
