School board recognition

Clarkston Board of Education welcomed Stefanie Crane to her first board meeting, Jan. 14, after her election in November to a six-year term.
“Our school board members spend countless volunteer hours working to create a learning environment where students, staff, and families are challenged, healthy, engaged, safe, and supported,” said Superintendent Shawn Ryan, recognizing January as School Board Recognition Month.
“In December, we said goodbye to longtime Trustee Sue Boatman, whose service to our schools exceeded far beyond her 10 years on the Board of Education,” Ryan said. “Tonight we welcome Trustee Stefanie Crane to the board table. As an involved parent of three Clarkston Community Schools students, she has already given so much to our school community. We look forward to working with her on our School Board.”
Crane joins board members Elizabeth Egan, president; Kelli Horst, vice president ; Gregory Need, treasurer; Steve Hyer, secretary, also a member of the Michigan Association of School Boards Board of Directors; and trustees Andrea Catalina and Cheryl McGinnis.
