Clarkston High School grad Maxwell Palese began an exciting study abroad program in Perth, Western Australia, in early August.
Maxwell graduated Clarkston High School in 2015 with an International Baccalaureate diploma and began his college career at Kalamazoo College studying biology and economics.
Following two successful years at Kalamazoo, Maxwell applied for a very selective study abroad program at Curtin University in Perth, studying environmental sciences and economics.
Following a semester at Curtin, which ends in November, Maxwell will pursue a month-long service learning tour of Southeast Asia visiting and working with local communities in Malaysia, Vietnam, and Cambodia.
“And, just to show he’s a true blue Michigander, Maxwell will spend a week on New Zealand’s North Island fly fishing before returning home to Clarkston for Christmas,” said his father Michael Palese.
