College achievements

Hunter Allan Valenzuela, a 2018 Clarkston High School graduate, graduated from Central Michigan University on May 7. His major was Broadcasting and Cinematic Arts and he will be continuing his studies this fall at Full Sail University in Winter Park, Fla., studying  Film.

Reece McConnell, of Clarkston, has been named to Southern New Hampshire University’s Winter 2022 Dean’s List, while Jacob Corey, of Clarkston, has been named to SNHU’s Winter 2022 President’s List.
Full-time undergraduate students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.500 to 3.699 are named to the Dean’s List, and full-time undergraduate students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.700 and above are named to the President’s List.
The school is located in Manchester, N.H.

Grace Mersino, of Clarkston, qualified for the Spring 2022 Dean’s List at Belmont University.
Eligibility is based on a minimum course load of 12 hours and a quality grade-point average of 3.5 with no grade below a C.
Belmont’s campus is two miles from downtown Nashville, Tenn.

Valerie Gilbert, of Clarkston, graduated from Georgia Southwestern State University during the Spring 2022 Commencement ceremonies May 13.
Gilbert earned a master’s degree in Business Administration from the school based in Americus, Ga.

Mackenzie Case, of Clarkston, graduated with a Master in Physician Assistant Science from Saint Francis University during the May 7-8, 2022 commencement exercises.
Mackenzie was among approximately 700 students who received degrees from the school, located in Loretta, Pa.
