College achievements

Kayleigh Ehlke, of Clarkston, has graduated from the University of Findlay (Ohio) with a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree.
Ehlke was invited to walk in the university’s commencement ceremonies on May 7.

Riley Nicole Schneider, of Clarkston, has been named to the Deans’ List at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln for the Spring semester of the 2021-22 academic year.
Schneider, a junior majoring in graphic design, was named to the Dean’s List for the Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts.

Derek Caraway, of Clarkston earned a Bachelor of Science Cum Laude in Computer Networks and Cybersecurity from University of Maryland Global Campus.
Caraway was also named to the Dean’s List for the spring semester. To be eligible for the honor, a student must complete at least six credits during the term, earned a GPA of at least 3.5 for the term, and maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.5 at UMGC.
Celebrating its 75th anniversary, University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) was established in 1947 to serve adults in the workforce.

Lucille Kline, of Clarkston, received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Hamilton (N.Y.) College on May 22, in a Commencement ceremony concluding the college’s 210th year.
A literature and Russian studies major, Kline graduated with departmental honors in Russian studies.
Kline completed a literature thesis titled “The Destruction of Vicarious Imagination: Rudy as a Sacrificial Lamb for Bloom’s Womanhood in ‘Ulysses,’” and a Russian studies thesis titled “Politics of Invisibility: Understanding the Subjective Queer Experience in Russian through Contemporary Literature.”

Nadia Smith, of Clarkston, was named to the Dean’s List for the Spring 2022 semester at Wheaton (Ill.) College.
To earn Dean’s List honors at Wheaton, an undergraduate student must carry 12 or more credit hours and achieve a semester GPA of 3.5 or higher on the 4.0 scale.

Clarkston’s Athena LeVigne graduated with a degree in psychology with minors in communication studies and religious studies from Albion College.
LeVigne was also named to the Dean’s List for the Spring 2022 semester. Albion College’s Dean’s List recognizes students who achieve a 3.5 or better GPA while taking four graded courses.
LeVigne is a graduate of Everest High School.

Adam Jan Wasniewski, of Clarkston, was named to the University of Utah’s Spring 2022 Dean’s List.
Wasniewski, whose major is listed as Film and Media Arts BA, was among more than 8,900 students named to the Spring 2022 Dean’s List at the university. To qualify, students must earn a GPA of 3.5 or higher in at least 12 graded credit hours during any one term.

Wren Macaulay (High Honors) and Ava Thewes (Highest Honors), both of Clarkston, have been named to the Dean’s List at the University of New Hampshire for the Spring 2022 semester.
Students named to the Dean’s List at the University of New Hampshire are students who have earned recognition through their superior scholastic performance during a semester enrolled in a full-time course load (12 or more graded credits). Highest honors are awarded to students who earn a semester grade point average of 3.85 or better out of a possible 4.0. Students with a 3.65 to 3.84 average are awarded high honors and students whose grade point average is 3.5 through 3.64 are awarded honors.

Clarkston’s Anthony Malinowski was named to the Honor List at Minnesota State University, Mankato, for the spring semester.
Among 3,334 students, a total of 971 students qualified for the High Honor List by achieving a 4.0 straight “A” average, while 2,363 students earned a 3.5 to 3.99 average to qualify for the Honor List.
To qualify for academic honors, undergraduate students must be enrolled for at least 12 credit hours for the semester.

Miami (Ohio) University awarded degrees to students during spring commencement. Grant Burgess, of Clarkston, graduated Cum Laude with a B.S. in Business, majoring in Marketing, Cole Mitchell, of Clarkston, graduated with a B.S. in Business, majoring in Finance, and Leilani Neme, of Clarkston, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Strategic Communication, Psychology.

Alexis Arbaugh, of Clarkston, was named to the Spring 2022 dean’s list at the University of Findlay (Ohio). To earn this achievement, a student must attain a GPA of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.

Kalamazoo College students who earned Dean’s List honors in Spring 2022 include Julia Fitzgerald and Kelsey Letchworth, both of Clarkston.
Dean’s List recognition is earned with a GPA of 3.5 or better.

Clarkston’s Alyssa Exline finished her freshman year on the Dean’s List at Aquinas College in Grand Rapids. She also had a very successful year playing ice hockey for Aquinas, scoring the most goals and the most points on her team. Benjamin Exline, of Clarkston, earned a spot on the Dean’s List in the spring semester at Western Michigan University. He is studying to become an electrical engineer.

Clarkston’s Madison Tucker has been named to Western New England University’s Dean’s List for the Spring 2022 semester.
Students are named to the Dean’s List for achieving a semester GPA of 3.30 or higher.

More than 760 students have been named to the Carthage (Wis.) College Dean’s List for the Spring 2022 semester, including Elizabeth Oda and Bo Anderson, both of Clarkston.

Over 1,600 students from Saginaw Valley State University earned a spot on the Winter 2022 semester Deans List.
Among the students named to the Deans List are Katherine Andres, Hannah Golab, Mason Kochanski, and Noah Bridger, all of Clarkston.
To be eligible for the Deans List, a student must take at least 12 credit hours and carry a semester GPA of 3.4 or better.

About 7,700 students received degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison on May 13-14, including JC James, of Clarkston, with a degree from the College of Letters and Science, Bachelor of Arts, Economics.
