College milestones

Jordan Timmins-Puzio, of Clarkston, was among over 680 students who earned named scholarships at Baldwin Wallace University (Berea, Ohio) this fall.
Timmins-Puzio, majoring in music composition, earned the Carl and Margaret Schluer Scholarship, the Lee Goldstein Music Scholarship and the Lloyd & Mildred Hoffman Scholarship.


Gavin Pate, of Clarkston, was among over 700 first-year students welcomed to the Baldwin Wallace University campus this fall who earned more than $13.1 million in merit scholarships.
Pate earned a $17,000 Deans Scholarship based on outstanding academic achievements in high school.


Allison Johnston, of Clarkston, was among over 140 transfer students welcomed to the Baldwin Wallace University campus this fall who claimed more than $1.7 million in merit scholarships based on their previous college accomplishments.
Johnston, majoring in biology, earned a $7,500 Transfer Yellow Jacket Success Grant.

Samuel Hoff (mechanical engineering), Jason Loucks (computer science), Marco Pacifico (industrial engineering), and Frank Tilli (computer science), all of Clarkston, were named to the Summer 2023 Dean’s List at Kettering University in Flint.
To be eligible for the Dean’s List, students must be a degree-seeking student with a minimum term GPA of 3.5, no grades below B, and a minimum of 16 credits for the term.


The Kappa Mu Epsilon math honor society at Flint’s Kettering University inducted William Raines during an event Nov. 16.
Raines, of Clarkston, is majoring in computer science.
To qualify for membership, students must be in the top 35% of their classes, have completed three math courses, and have earned a B average in their math courses.
