Collegiate milestones aplenty for Clarkston students

Grant Burgess and Alyssa Schroeder, both of Clarkston, have been named to the Miami University Dean’s List for the Fall 2021 semester.
Burgess is earning a BS in Business in Marketing and Schroeder a BS in Kinesiology and Health in Kinesiology, Premedical Studies.
Miami students who are ranked in the top 20 percent of undergraduate students within each division for the semester earn Dean’s List recognition.
The school is located in Oxford, Ohio.

Jordan Timmins-Puzio, of Clarkston, majoring in music composition at Baldwin Wallace University, has been named to the Dean’s List for the Fall 2021 semester at the Berea, Ohio school.
The Dean’s List recognizes students who earn a grade point average of 3.6 or higher while enrolled in 12 or more graded hours during the semester.
In addition, Timmins-Puzio was inducted into the Baldwin Wallace University Honors Program during the Fall 2021 semester. Timmins-Puzio shared the distinction with 89 other high-achieving students. BW President Bob Helmer presented each student with a pin and T-shirt to congratulate them on their entry into the program, which strives for a distinctive and inspiring learning environment both inside and outside the classroom.

Wheaton College student Nadia Smith, of Clarkston, was named to the Dean’s List for the Fall 2021 semester.
To earn Dean’s List honors at Wheaton, an undergraduate student must carry 12 or more credit hours and achieve a semester grade point average of 3.5 or higher on the 4.0 scale.
Wheaton College is located in Wheaton, Ill.

Rhianna C. Hensler, of Clarkston, has been named to the Dean’s List in the University of Notre Dame’s College of Arts and Letters for outstanding scholarship during the Fall 2021 semester.
Students who achieve Dean’s List honors at Notre Dame represent the top 30 percent of students in their college.
A sophomore, Hensler is also a member of the university’s swim team.

The following Clarkston students have been named to the Dean’s List at the University of New Hampshire for the Fall 2021 semester: Wren Macaulay (Highest Honors) and Ava Thewes (High Honors).
Students named to the Dean’s List at UNH are students who have earned recognition through their superior scholastic performance during a semester enrolled in a full-time course load (12 or more graded credits). Highest Honors are awarded to students who earn a semester GPA of 3.85 or better out of a possible 4.0. Students with a 3.65 to 3.84 average are awarded High Honors.

Ryan Mason, of Clarkston, a Trine University student, has earned Dean’s List recognition for the Fall 2021 term.
Mason is majoring in Design Engineering Technology at the Angola, Ind., school.
To earn Dean’s List honors, Trine University students must complete a minimum of 12 hours and have a GPA of 3.500-3.749.

Angelena Perry, of Clarkston, a Trine University student, was named to the President’s List for the Fall 2021 term.
Perry is majoring in Business Administration.
To earn President’s List honors, Trine University students must complete a minimum of 12 hours and have a grade point average of 3.750-4.000.

Adam Wasniewski, of Clarkston, was named to the University of Utah’s Fall 2021 Dean’s List.
Wasniewski’s major is listed as Film and Media Arts BA.
Wasniewski was among more than 9,600 students named to the Fall 2021 Dean’s List at the university. To qualify, students must earn a GPA of 3.5 or higher in at least 12 graded credit hours during any one term.

Concordia University Wisconsin has released the Fall Honors List for the 2021-2022 academic year. To be eligible for the honor, students must achieve a minimum 3.60 GPA. 
Kyra Hohnstadt, a senior Elementary Education major, of Clarkston, was one of the students named to the list.
Concordia is in Mequon, Wis.

The Dean’s List for the Fall 2021 semester at the University of Findlay (Ohio) has been announced, and local Clarkston students include Alexis Arbaugh and Sydney Raupp.

Nicole Schneider, of Clarkston, has been named to the Deans’ List at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln for the Fall semester of the 2021-22 academic year.
Schneider, a sophomore majoring in Graphic Design, was named to the Dean’s List for the Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts.
More than 6,700 students at Nebraska were named to the Deans’ List for the fall semester.
Qualification for the Deans’ List varies among the eight undergraduate colleges and the Explore Center. All qualifying GPAs are based on a four-point scale and a minimum number of graded semester hours. The requirements for the Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts is a 3.7 GPA.

There were more than 600 students from Saginaw Valley State University whose determination and commitment to academic excellence earned them a spot on the fall 2021 semester President’s List.
To be eligible for the President’s List, a student must take at least 12 credit hours and earn a 4.0 grade point average.
Among the Clarkston students earning a spot on the President’s List are Elizabeth Smith and Rachel Andres.
In addition, nearly 2,000 students from Saginaw Valley State University earned a spot on the Fall 2021 semester Deans’ List.
To be eligible for the Deans’ List, a student must take at least 12 credit hours and carry a semester GPA of 3.4 or better.
Among those from Clarkston named to the list are Noah Bridger, Mariah Drye, Hannah Graves, Mason Kochanski, and Jala Smith.

Elizabeth Giordano (majoring in Worship), Sarah Lacey (Industrial and Innovative Design), and Kaylee Phillips (Nursing), all of Clarkston, were named to the Dean’s List at Cedarville University for Fall 2021. This recognition requires the student to obtain a 3.75 GPA or higher for the semester and carry a minimum of 12 credit hours.
Located in southwest Ohio, Cedarville University is an accredited, Christ-centered, Baptist institution.

Hunter Allan Valenzuela, of Clarkston, has made the Dean’s List for the Fall 2021 semester at Central Michigan University.
Valenzuela is majoring in Broadcasting and Cinematic Arts.

Hailey Catania (majoring in Chemical Biology), Lucas Dishon (Electrical Engineering), Alyssa Evanson (Architecture), Lauren Hartline (Electrical Engineering), Jacob Joyner (Mechanical Engineering), and Madison Kujala (Biomedical Engineering), all of Clarkston, have been named to the Dean’s Honor Roll for the Fall 2021 semester at Lawrence Technological University.
To be named to the honor roll a student must maintain at least a 3.5 GPA for the term.

Ferris State University has announced that 3,541 students received Academic Honors for the semester that ended in December 2021 at the university and Kendall College of Art and Design.
To be eligible for Academic Honors, the minimum requirements for full-time students each term are a 3.5 GPA and completion of 12 Ferris credit hours or more of graded course work at the 100 level or higher. The minimum requirements for part-time students each term are a 3.5 GPA with completion of at least 12 accumulated Ferris credit hours of graded course work at the 100 level or higher.
