The city Beautification Committee and DPW staff have been working hard to clean up and mulch the M-15 landscape beds for the July 4 parade, said City Manager Jonathan Smith.
“This includes the Clarkston News parking lot beds. The city removed existing plants from the beds and brought in fresh mulch, paid for by Clarkston News publisher Jim Sherman Jr.,” Smith said at the June 25 City Council meeting.
“I appreciate what Jim Sherman did up there, by the paper,” said Council member Eric Haven.
The city is working with several groups to freshen up downtown flower beds, Smith said.
