The Clarkston Farm and Garden Club created 60 bouquets at their August meeting as part of the Lonely Bouquet mission.
The bouquets came with the following message, “The Lonely Bouquet, adopt me please. I’m all alone and looking for a home. Can I live with you or a loved one? Please take me.”
The bouquets were placed around Clarkston, in Depot Park, at Neiman’s Family Market, the post office, and given to assisted living communities and many more Clarkston locations.
The Garden Club members brought flowers from their gardens and or purchased flowers to create the bouquets.
The Lonely Bouquet originated in Belgium and England in 2013, with florist Emily Avenson sharing bouquets in her town.
Avenson’s mission was “to spread happiness and smiles, one flower at a time.”
The efforts have now grown to a worldwide effort, with the Clarkston Garden Club participating for seven years.
