Going green, staying green

Going green, staying green

For the ninth consecutive year, Bowman Chevrolet in Clarkston has been named a certified General Motors Green Dealer.
The dealership has a proven track record in energy reduction, renewable energy use, water conservation efforts, recycling, onsite nature habitats and community outreach.
Bowman is one of only 276 GM dealerships who are eligible to be re-certified for this Green Dealer program. The dealership has several new green practices in place: six ChargePoint EV no cost chargers were installed for customer use, all lighting interior and exterior lighting is now low energy consumption LED lights to reduce energy use, and an enhanced recycling program which includes all batteries, fluids (engine oil, transmission oil and coolants, plastics and paper).
“Over the past few years, we have doubled down on our commitment to help build a most sustainable future for the community,” said Katie Bowman Coleman, president and owner of Bowman Chevrolet. “At the dealership, this means reducing our carbon footprint through reducing energy consumption, increasing recycling and helping our customers transition to EVs by offering free charging onsite.”
Bowman went through an assessment and validation that proved they have a high percentage of 60 eco-friendly business practices across 10 categories. This recognition is an indication that the dealership has continued to improve on that base of required initiatives.
