Helping to make a difference

Members of the Clarkston Rotary Club and other volunteers will be on Main Street in Clarkston on Nov. 4-5 from 7:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. selling a Clarkston Rotary published newspaper for donations.
Every penny of the donated collections will be used the following Saturday, Nov. 12, on its annual Clarkston Rotary “Shoes for Kids” program at Calvary Lutheran Church. Clarkston school children will be recipients of new shoes, boots, hats, and gloves.
This year, over 450 community service-minded volunteers will participate over four days to assure that over 400 Clarkston-area children will be a little warmer and safer for the upcoming winter.
People in safety vests and Santa hats will be roaming the downtown Clarkston streets or at various locations in November and early December carrying newspaper bags collecting donations.
If you are unable to stop and donate, you may still help out by mailing a donation to Clarkston Rotary “Shoes for Kids,” PO Box 43, Clarkston MI 48347.
