Dear Editor,

The failure of the Independence Township Board of Trustees to choose a successor supervisor, because of Supervisor Kittle’s early departure, is no reason to look back to would-be self-appointed “candidates.”
We need to look forward.
First, to selecting clearly the best current candidate for the job, Paul Brown.
That this obvious choice has been roadblocked merely for personal politics is jeopardizing our community, unnecessarily.
So the next step should be to replace, at the next opportunity – or sooner, those on the township board who have blocked this appointment.  They are not acting in the best interests of the township.
