Letter to the Editor: Supporting Need, McGinnis

The Clarkston School Board election is a very important one this year.
I moved into this district in 1977 and feel that the Community School District is running the best it has since then.
I’m proud of the way that that this district focuses on the well-being of our students academically, physically and emotionally.
I’m so proud of how the district handled the COVID crisis, working hard to protect not only our students but also our teachers.
As the parent of a teacher and a grandparent of a student, the protection of our daughter and our grandson was a priority for us during this time. Our grandson, who graduated from CHS in 2021, had the full effect of online studies during COVID, plus in-school learning his senior year. He graduated with honors and is competing very well in an out-of-state college.
Because I am so proud of what this district has been doing, I am endorsing incumbents Greg Need and Cheryl McGinnis for Clarkston School Board this election. They have proven their honesty and integrity in this community.
In addition to being happy with our current school board, I have known Greg Need since the early 1980s when I worked at Springfield Township and he was (and still is) the township attorney and greatly respected by all.
I also worked for his law firm for five years where I got to know Greg as a boss and business owner. In all the areas that I’ve known Greg,
I have found him to be a moral, ethical and conscientious person. His children attended Clarkston Schools and he still cares for all the students in this district.
