Local real estate group gets beach ready for upcoming summer

Summer is fast approaching, and the employees at Keller Williams Realty in Clarkston took one major step last Thursday to making the local area look ready for the upcoming change of seasons.
David Niezgoda and his coworkers took part in the company’s RED Day, with the letters standing for renew, energize, and donate, to collectively transform Deer Lake Beach from its dormant, winter state to a beach that will soon be open to beach enthusiasts.
“Since May 2009, our entire company, from the United States and Canada to our family abroad, sets aside the second Thursday of every May to renew, energize, and donate within the communities we serve,” Niezgoda said. “Giving back to our communities not just on RED Day, but all year long, gives credence to our company mission, ‘To build careers worth having, business worth owning, lives worth living, experiences worth giving, and legacies worth leaving,’ and feeds our most noble motivations, reminding every member of our team why we do what we do.”
Niezgoda said all the work done was voluntary, including the brush and tree trimming by Father & Son Tree Service in Lapeer, who also hauled away the debris in the their trailer, all free of charge on a day that was warm and sunny with a brisk breeze here and there.
“We posted on social media for help and support of not only our agents and affiliates, but the general public as well,” said Niezgoda. “We did get a great helping hand. We painted the building, stained all the picnic tables, fences and benches, planted flowers, weeded beds and raked and fluffed up the sand, all from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. A gallant team effort. What a great day of friendship, caring and giving back to the community from which we work.
“Service before self is a creed I always strive for, along with complete customer satisfaction.”
