Memo from the editor: Enjoying a Clarkston Christmas

Matt Mackinder

Well, here we are!
We are deep into the holiday season, and what a time it is proving to be.
This year has a great feeling to it, and that was never more evident than last Saturday in downtown Clarkston for the traditional Holiday Lights Parade and first-ever Clarkston Christmas Market.
People were smiling and laughing and simply enjoying the day and evening.
Carolers were singing their Christmas favorites in Depot Park, Santa and Mrs. Claus met with excited children, and Main Street was 5-6 people deep in some spots for the parade.
That night really put me in the Christmas spirit. I enjoyed being amongst the throngs of people with my daughter and for those few hours, all the annoyances in life seemed to melt away.
To all those people that make Clarkston what it is, thank you! This is certainly a wonderful community.
Wishing you all the joys of the holiday season!
