Everest Academy second graders recently took a local field trip to Neiman’s Family Market.
The kids explored different areas inside Neiman’s to learn about the inner workings of a grocery store.
They made peanut butter in the bulk food section, twice-baked potatoes in the deli and they decorated cookies in the bakery.
Students also saw how to grind fresh ground beef and package it and learned about and sampled different types of milk in the store’s dairy section.
They also got some work experience during their trip, assisting cashiers through bagging customers’ groceries.
Visiting Neiman’s gave Everest students a unique learning experience and a fun time driving motorized carts around an obstacle course.
