Deputies responded to the 5000 block of Hillsboro Road in Springfield Township on the afternoon of October 22 on the report of a suicidal man, a 30-year-old from Springfield Township, who had pointed a shotgun at his roommate’s chest.
The roommate, a 66-year-old Springfield Township man, reported that he had fled the residence. No injuries were reported.
Upon arrival, deputies established a perimeter around the residence. Deputies gave loud and clear verbal commands for the subject to exit the residence. He did not comply. The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team was then called.
After repeated commands to exit the residence, the subject complied and was taken into custody without incident.
Deputies located a loaded shotgun inside of the residence and secured it. The SWAT team was canceled prior to their arrival on the scene. An OCSO evidence technician processed the scene.
The arrestee was lodged at the Oakland County Jail pending the issuance of charges.
