Springfield Township homes robbed; suspects at large

Thirteen home invasions in Springfield Township were reported over a 10-day period in December from approximately Dec. 20-31, 2022.
Detectives believe that 11 are related and may have been committed by similar suspects. The reported incidents happened within a few miles of each other in the area of Davisburg Road, Bridge Lake Road, and Holcomb Road, in the early evening hours.
In two instances, homeowners were alerted by their home security systems where they saw someone around or in their homes. They called 911 but the suspects fled before deputies arrived.
Suspects entered the home by prying open windows or entering through unlocked windows.
Typical items taken included jewelry, purses, and cash. In some instances, home safes were pried open and the contents were removed.
Estimated total value of the items taken is more than $100,000.
The homes were all unoccupied where the residents were gone for extended periods from a week to months. Only one of the homeowners was gone for a single night.
The exact time of most of the break-ins is unknown as they were discovered by someone checking on the house. An exact date is known on a few as they were captured on home security systems.
Patrols have been increased in the area and there has not been a break-in reported during that time.
Residents were reminded they can request house checks from the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office by going to OaklandSheriff.com and submitting a house check form.
The OCSO is asking for the public’s help identifying the suspect(s) responsible for the home invasions.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK UP. Crime Stoppers pays a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest. Tipsters remain anonymous.

Tips for homeowners
• Leave lights on in your home or put lights on timers, even leaving TV on a timer in the early evening.
• If you have a home security system, turn it on.
• Have a friend, neighbor, or relative check your house often. This leaves tire tracks and footprints in the snow and gives the appearance that someone is around.
• Have daily mail/newspaper delivery stopped or have someone collect it daily.
• Tell your neighbors you are gone so they can watch for suspicious activity.
• Check all windows and doors to ensure they are locked.
