Dixie Highway paving

The Road Commission for Oakland County was scheduled to begin a resurfacing project on Dixie Highway this week from I-75 to Oakhill Road in Springfield Township. Joint work is scheduled to begin the week of August 29, and paving is scheduled to begin the week of September 12. Anticipate lane closures and traffic delays.

Local donations

Grants totaling $30,000 have recently been awarded by the David W. Elliott Memorial Foundation of Clarkston to the Assistance League of Southeast Michigan. The grants will be used to support several programs, including Operation School Bell (school clothes and books), Wee Help (kits for mothers with newborns) and Nourishing Neighbors (food pantry).
